Our law firm uses Orion Financial/Practice Management software and I am getting many people reporting a sporadic 'insufficient system resources' when trying to open the program. The problem is fixed by rebooting the computer but the issue keeps recurring sometimes multiple times per day per user. Orion support has remoted into my desktop several times when the problem was occurring but has not been able to figure out a solution. Under Win32 you only get 2GB of virtual memory per process - I wouldn't be surprised if that was your issue right there.Any reason you need 32 bit windows? Even with only 4GB of RAM, 64 bit windows would be a huge upgrade for you.I don't think this is your problem but sometimes resource errors are caused by the registry - you can set the registry size to unlimited by going to HKLMSystemCurrentControlSetControl and creating a new key named RegistrySizeLimit of type RegDword and a value of ffffffff But I seriously suspect your 32 bit windows is the main source of your troubles.

Severely resource constrained compared to 64 bit windows. I'd say your first troubleshooting step is to use MSCONFIG and disable everything on the Startup tab and all non-Microsoft services on the Services tab. (Make an exception for Orion-relevant stuff, of course.) Reboot and see what happens. If the problem goes away, yes, it's something in your workstation build not playing nicely with the rest of the kids on the playground. If the problem persists, it's far more likely the problem lies with the software. Another check would be to stripe a vanilla install of Windows on a different machine. Patch it up, install Orion.
Same problem? Yeah, it's their crappy software. Make them fix it. Forgot to mention that I also ran MSCONFIG and unchecked all non Microsoft services from starting and the problem still occurs.
All the images below are from Enscape. They all have Enscape material 'tags' for the material names, making them render nicely in Enscape. Trees for sketchup 2014.
They actually told me they've seen the problem occur but very rarely. We are the only customer they've seen it happen to chronically. I'm sure if I set up a vanilla Windows workstation Orion would work fine since it works fine elsewhere but that doesn't help me solve the problem for our 58 users. We are running 32 bit Windows because a couple of our main apps require it.
I have on my to do list to build a 64 bit machine and try to get everything to work anyway so we can switch over. It has its own checking built in and won't let something like MSCONFIG stop it from running.Uninstall SEP and see where that gets you. When you rebuild a test machine with x64 Windows, don't put SEP back on initially. In fact, don't put anything other than Orion on the vanilla system. If it works, great. Add ONE MORE THING the user needs, whether that be Office or SEP or something else. Continue in this fashion until all required software is installed (beginning with most critical to have and ending with least) or you find the program that's causing the conflict. When you're done, send a bill to Orion for testing their product. (I'm only partially kidding.). Tom Esker wrote:Thanks Bryce.
Orion recommends 64 bit Windows 7 with 6GB RAM. I just started building a 64 bit machine and plan to do exactly what you said with myself as the guinea pig. Breaking bad season 1 episode download 720p. Hopefully I can manage to get the '32 bit only' programs to work as well and re-image everyone with 64 bit Windows.32-bit on x64 is a non-issue. Point of fact, the vast majority of software presently on the market is 32-bit.
I can name all of four applications that have x64 versions. I'm sure there are more, but the point is that x64 programming is still very niche.I doubt you'll have any issues 'getting 32-bit only programs to work'.If you were talking 16-bit, you'd be in for gnashing of teeth and tearing of hair.
